The Far East Suite is considered Duke Ellington’s most famous suite of music and comes from an album recorded in 1968.  It is some of the best examples of incorporating different cultures with American Blues and Jazz.  Scott Yanow, writing for Allmusic, calls this one of Ellington's "more memorable recordings,"[1] describing it as an example of "Ellington and Strayhorn in their late prime," and “quite essential.”
The New Orleans Suite was recorded by Ellington in 1970 and won the Grammy for Best Jazz Performance in 1971.  It portrays different musical elements associated with New Orleans and attempts to capture the joy and exuberance of the city in its heyday.
