" Feed the body food and drink, it will survive today. Feed the soul art and music, it will live forever." - Dame Julie Andrews.

Patrick Miles

Welcome to the 69th season of the CWSO - we're thrilled to have you join us for a season of delights selected especially for YOU!

We open our vintage year with a gorgeous commission by Roger L. Nelson, composed for and premiered by our very our very own concertmaster, Steven Bjella. This full-bodied program features the string section, with a fine finish of Dvorak's beloved Symphony No. 8.

The holiday is full of sparkling cheer as we welcome Danny Mitchell home from Nashville for the holidays. Taking a break from touring with Miranda Lambert, Danny will bring a program full of his arrangements and fresh tunes.

We'll have a taste of French culture in February as we partner with the Wisconsin Trumpet Guild in bringing Marc Geujon, Solo Trumpet with the Paris Opera to the stage. With an Italian apertif of trumpet fanfare, the program will elicit marvelous aromas, concluding with Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

The season will close with a jazz-inspired program of music and dance created by American composers. Jeannie Hill, praised for her Point Tap Festival and astounding choreographies for the Department of Theater and Dance at UW-Stevens Point, will perform the first concerto to pair the art of tap dancing and classical music.

We invite you to join in all that we have to celebrate and ask that you join us in toasting our first 69 years of enriching, engaging, and educating through the power and performance of live music!
