UPDATE: The professional development session for teachers will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10 AM to 12 PM at the CWSO office inside the Scarabocchio Art Museum, 800 Main Street, Stevens Point, 54481. Free parking is available on the surrounding streets, and in the parking lot on the west side of Water Street. Please bring your recorders and your student and teacher guides.
In collaboration with Carnegie Hall, the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra is participating in Link Up: The Orchestra Sings, a music education program provided by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, during the 2018–2019 season. Nearly 2000 fourth grade students participating in Link Up will attend a culminating concert on March 14, 2019 at Sentry Theater in Stevens Point where they will sing and play the recorder with the CWSO from their seats. The CWSO's Vetter Concerts often serve as students’ first concert experience, providing them with the opportunity to apply the musical concepts they have studied in school, and encouraging their further participation in school instrumental music programs.
Lead support for Link Up is provided by the Fund II Foundation. Additional funding for Link Up is provided by The Ambrose Monell Foundation and The Barker Welfare Foundation.
Link Up with the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra is supported through:
- The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin
- The Community Arts Grant Program of the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, with funds provided by the Wisconsin Arts Board, a state agency, the Community Foundation, and the B.A. & Esther Greenheck Foundation.
- The Green Bay Packers Foundation
