So You Think You Can Conduct!   « Back

Dec. 7, 2019 - Apr. 1, 2020

The CWSO So You Think You Can Conduct contest is a fun and competitive format for raising funds to support the orchestra. In this fierce, yet friendly competition, three candidates will be vying for the chance to conduct the orchestra at the April "Ode to Unity" concerts.  The candidate that receives the most votes ($5 per vote) wins!  The three candidates for So You Think You Can Conduct are all band members.  We know that they can perform, but the REAL question is - can they conduct?

We'd like to introduce:

1. Dennis Provisor- a Los Angeles native, now based in the town of Hull, was the keyboard player and vocalist for Grass Roots. He and the band appeared on American Bandstand with Dick Clark, and the Ed Sullivan show, and set a record of 307 weeks on the billboard singles charts.

2. Sami Giese- Sami burst onto to vocal scene when she entered the Hodag Country Music Festival karaoke contest and placed first. She is the lead singer for country band, Whiskey and Lace.

3. Art Stevenson- UWSP professor in the department of Physics and Astronomy.  Art Stevenson and High Water is Wisconsin's best-known bluegrass show and has been in demand throughout the Midwest since 1993.
