CWSO Announces Winner of "So You Think You Can Conduct"

The CWSO would like to announce the winner of our "So You Think You Can Conduct" contest. Congratulations to Ellen Hilgendorf! She received a total of 709 votes! She will be stepping on the podium to conduct the orchestra in a surprise piece at our Feb. 23 and 24 concerts. 

Here is a little bit about Ellen:
Ellen Hilgendorf is currently the Owner of Ellen’s Rustic Lodge in Tomahawk, WI. She is also the Controller/Business Manager at Daigle Brothers, Inc. in Tomahawk. Prior to her management roles, Ellen was a piano teacher for 35 years. For several years she sang with the Wheaton Choral Union at Wheaton College in Wheaton, IL. Ellen was on staff at Grace Pointe Church in Naperville, IL as a church musician where she played keys, sang vocals, composed instrumentals & conducted small instrumental ensembles as well as directing worship teams. Since moving back to her hometown of Tomahawk she has been playing keyboard on the worship band at Northwoods Vineyard Church in Tomahawk. Ellen studied Music Ed and Music Composition at UW- Eau Claire and Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. In her spare time she enjoys working in her yard, hiking, kayaking, cooking & enjoying time with family and friends.

We would like to thank all of our 2018-19 candidates. Together they raised nearly $6000! Thank you Ellen, Sean and Tonya!
