Bruce Barnes

Jack of All Trades

Bruce Barnes is an indispensable jack of all trades with the CWSO.  He is in his fifth year as a board member. He has served in multiple capacities: a member of the Education Committee, the manager of ushers, and currently Vice President of the board. He is also chair of the Development Committee. Bruce’s typical answer for any CWSO responsibility is “you can depend on me.”

Bruce states that “of all the amazing qualities of the orchestra, what stands out for me is the extraordinary passion and talent I can easily see in every performance; from the vision of our remarkable Music Director, to the brilliance of every musician on stage, I am grateful for the experience of seeing them play together to create a truly memorable musical event.”

Over the summer Bruce completed a fundraiser called Opus 500.  He biked 500 miles and raised nearly $1,000 for the orchestra. He documented the experience with pictures and videos which were posted on the CWSO Facebook page for followers and supporters to enjoy.

When he’s not busy with CWSO, Bruce serves as a pilot in Cycling without Age.
